There are many reasons why you might want to pull your hair back with a headband. Maybe the warm weather means you want to pull your hair away from your face to keep cooler. Perhaps you want to change up your look for an upcoming date. It could be that you just want some cute and comfortable ways to wear your hair when you meet with friends or hang out at home. Whatever the reason, try these fun and simple headband ideas.
Wild and Free
When you want a natural look, let your hair hang down loosely with a straight part down the middle. Place a stiffer headband, such as one with jewels, a few inches from the hairline. Use flowing waves to obscure the ends of the band.
Pump up the Volume
Headbands are a great way to add some extra volume to your ‘do. Use your favorite product to tease in some volume at the crown of your head. When ready, use a double-strapped headband placed right behind your ears. You can also use a brightly colored wide headband for a more prominent look.
Pulling on inspiration from the 1960s, pull your hair into an off-centered part. Select a colorful cloth or elastic headband and wear it like a crown or circlet by pulling it down over your hair until it rests in the middle of your forehead. Give your hair a little volume by gently loosening the strands at the crown of your head. Let the rest of your hair hang free.
A Crowning Appearance
For a more made up look that is still free and flowing, select your favorite fabric headband. Create a part off-center with your hair, then slide the band down to your hairline. Once you have it in place, adjust your locks around your face and gently pull some up to add volume.
If you’re looking to pull your hair up, but still want to rock the band, just slip your locks into a ponytail and tease out the ends into a fan shape. Take an elastic headband and slide it over your head until it rests just a couple of inches away from the hairline. If you’re concerned about the band slipping off, use bobby pins to secure it.
Wrapping It Up
Ditch the rigid bands altogether and use colorful pink camo ribbon, like this from Hairbow Center to wrap your hair up in a ponytail or bun. It’s sporty, flirty, and everything in-between. Of course, you can also add a headband a few inches from your hairline to top off the hairstyle.
